How To Generate Free Website Traffic FAST

Posted by admin On October - 23 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

There are many ways to generate fast free website traffic, but many of them aren’t readily available to the average, lesser-known marketer.

If you do have a large list, getting immediate traffic to your website can be as simple as sending a compelling email. However, it takes time to build a quality list. It also takes time to build strong relationships and trust with your list members.

Do your keyword research, striving to identify the “buying keywords” that your target customers are using. One easy way to do that is to use the “Google External Keyword Tool” to research which keywords get the most searches.

Use your target keywords to craft titles for 20 articles. In addition to the keywords make sure that your title also promises some benefit.

Actually write those 20 articles. They can be as short as 400 words. If you have trouble writing, go to several of the bigger article directories and read what others have written on the topic.

Turn each article into a video. The simplest way to do this is probably to put your main points on PowerPoint slides. Then as you read your article, flip through the slides, and record it using Camtasia screen capture software. As easy as that, you have a movie.

Turn each article into a podcast (an MP3). Just read the article and record it using software built right into your computer.

Write several press releases using the article titles as your topic. Here you need to get a little creative, but as an example, you may use like, “Website Traffic Expert Reveals How To Generate Free website Traffic Fast.”

Submit these articles, videos, podcasts, and press releases to article directories, video sharing sites, podcast aggregators, and free press release sites.

“Rinse and repeat!” What happens over time is that you’ll soon have so much content in cyberspace that you’ll achieve critical mass. At that point you’ll rank for your most important keywords as well as lots of longtail keywords. At that point, you’ll be amazed at the traffic.

To speed up the process you can also post your articles to an optimized WordPress blog that’s been configured to “ping” RSS aggregators, social networking sites, and bookmarking sites each time that you post. More

How to Research a Target Market For Your Information Products

Posted by admin On October - 6 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

When beginning to do market research for your information product, start by thinking about all of the things that you like to do. What are your interests, likes, and skills? When you start with yourself, you ensure that you are only working with subjects that excite you, which goes a long way toward making your marketing efforts fun rather than dreary.

What do you read online? Blogs, news, articles, reports, forums, and emailing lists all count.
Think about what topics seem eternally able to grab your attention. Are there people out there
buying the things you’re interested in? Have you bought any of these products? What hobbies, sports, or other areas of personal interest do you regularly participate in? Now look around your home, and ask yourself: ‘What would stranger walking into my house think I was interested in?’

You’ve just brainstormed a bunch of markets, right from your own life!

Look around your favorite forums or groups for threads wherein someone is trying to solve a problem. Take care to note if they succeeded in solving their problem. If none was found, see if you can research one. If one was found, see if you can expand upon it enough to turn it into an information product.

How-To and DIY sites like InfoBarrel, eHow, HowStuffWorks, and such are great places to do market research for information products. You can also check Amazon’s best-seller lists, eBay Pulse, and Google Trends.

Finally, any form of keyword research that you might do, from the Gtrends page to more complex tools like Google AdWords’ Keyword Research page, can serve as a market research tool as well. Any keywords that ask a question and have a high volume of searches represent a potential market.

Google Puts Online Stores Within Easy Reach

Posted by admin On August - 1 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

Running a small business can be complicated, but Google’s trying to make running an online store literally as easy as one, two, three. Basically, if you can manage a spreadsheet, you can now start an online store.

Thanks to a new Google Checkout store gadget, “No complicated coding or technical tasks are required. You can get your first online store up-and-running in under five minutes,” according to a Google Checkout APIs page.

At the most basic level (step-by-step instructions are available), all that’s necessary is that you sign up for a Google Checkout account, list your products in a Google spreadsheet, and then embed your new store in a website. Small, medium, and large sizes are available, depending on how much space you want it to inhabit.

You can see an example store above. The clean and clear design is hard to fault.

Fair warning: Google charges transaction fees, and this tech is in beta with at least one acknowledged problem (related to color selection). Still, for ease of use, this offering is hard to beat, and if you’re already a fan of Google’s suite of products and services, the Google Checkout store gadget may fit into the lineup quite nicely.

Tactics to Draw People Back to your Site

Posted by admin On July - 12 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

One of the biggest measurements of a website’s success is the stickiness of its visitor base. Generally web masters would rather have 1,000 visitors who return regularly (they are “stuck to the site”) as opposed to 3,000 visitors who only visit once or twice. These days the web is massive, carving out a niche for your site and gaining a following within that niche is the key to success.

Content
Regardless of the site’s design, without good content, the visitor will not come back or stay at the site for more than a few minutes. “Content is King” is a cliché, but true. High quality content is far and away the most important factor in attracting people back to a Web site consistently, and keeping them there for more than a few minutes when they do visit. It is said, in fact, that content is what drives 75 percent of consumers to return to their favorite sites.

Community
When a site attracts enough visitors with similar interests it has the potential to develop into a “community.” That can be very powerful for the site owner. Providing message forums, chat rooms, podcasts, user profiles, blogs, etc. are all tools to allow your visitors to interact both you and each other. This also makes your site VERY sticky if you are able to develop a thriving community.

Communication
Communication is equally important as content and community. Communication includes building and maintaining your list, reaching out to people on your list, and interacting with visitors to your site. Try to respond to any question, comments, or feedback you receive promptly. This builds relationships with your visitors and will keep them coming back.

Commerce and Consumer Confidence
These are perhaps the two most important things that get overlooked in websites. First, effectively promote your site by using professional marketing and search engine optimization for the niche your site seeks to fill. Provide reliable, safe, and secure means for your customers to purchase your for-pay content. If your ordering method does not look safe, all your efforts working to sell your content to your visitors will be lost if they get to the order page and you look like an unprofessional, fly-by-night operator. Always use a secure ordering form. Offering a money back guarantee can be extremely helpful to reassure customers.

Lastly, respect your customer’s privacy. Make it clear you will not sell their names, personal information, or email addresses. People hate spam and will be hesitant to identify themselves to you out of fear of having their information sold if you do not provide some kind of assurance against this. A clear and easy to locate privacy policy is necessary.
